About the Author Dr. Hamza Mustafa Njozi is rector of the Islamic University of Morogoro, in Tanzania. He was previously the Chair in the Department of Literature at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and was a founding member of the Dar es Salaam University Muslim Trusteeship. He obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Dar es Salaam and his doctorate degree from the National University of Malaysia. Dr. Njozi has served as an East African Visiting Scholar at the Centre of African Studies at the University of London and as a Fulbright Scholar at the Center for African Studies at the University of Florida. He has published many articles in the fields of literature, folklore, and Islam. |
