About the Author
The late Shaykh Muhamad ibn Sâlih ibn al-‘Uthaymeen was widely-recognized as one of the greatest Islamic scholars of modern times. He was a member of the Senior Scholars Committee of Saudi Arabia, a professor at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University (Qaseem branch), and had been a lecturer at the Haram Masjid in Makkah.
Shaykh ibn al-‘Uthaymeen was renowned for his vast knowledge of Qur’an and Hadith, his superior understanding of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence and law), his excellent example of ideal Islamic character, and the effective way he taught and explained Islamic teachings to common Muslims as well as advanced students of knowledge. His students are found throughout the world, and others continue to learn from his copious written works and taped lessons and lectures.
Shaykh ibn al-‘Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, died in 1421 H/ 2001 CE.
